Although Yucatan real estate can be kind of expensive for most Mexicans, foreigners who bring in strong currencies often are amazed at how affordable it can be to buy a summer or winter home on the Yucatan Peninsula.
Many who do this are retired and may live in a state that experiences cold weather in the winter. Instead of braving the cold winter year after year, they decide instead to come to the Yucatan where they can live like kings for a few weeks or months out of the year.
While beachfront property may cost you hundreds of thousands of dollars in most places in the United States, homes and property on the beach can be purchased in Yucatan for as little as it costs to buy a new car.
Of course, the nicer the property or home, the higher the price will rise, but even then, the prices do not even come close to reaching what they do in the United States.
